I listened to our council executive and ILEX rep. talking today about yet more surveys etc. Why won't they actually DO something. I have two immediate ideas.
1. The new foot-bridge
My suggestion is to build a " Y " shape bridge splitting at the middle of the river with one arm going to the Ebrington site for historical interest - the other arm going to St.Columb's park for play and sports by or own population as well as tourists. A bridge like this would be iconic and, I suspect, unique in the world!
2. Use the river
Hoe about building a number of ramps along the river so that those with pleasure craft, canoes etc. could launch them easily.
I suggest Fort George, Culmore Point, Redcastle. These are simple to build and not expensive.
Has anyone got an amphbian landing craft for tourist trips ?

Good ideas, i think they are gona link the ebrington site with st.columbs park anyway. And they should defintitely do something with the river! Bein able to go out cannoin etc would be brilliant
We should campaign for pontoon landing platforms at each end of the footbridge for small boat users - Prehen Rowing Club members and others! ALSO a walkway pier at Culmore to tie up!
