At the outset of day two delegates continued to focus on the past, moved onto the present and considered the external and internal realities facing all of us. Splitting into sectoral groups of education / training and skills, business / trade unions, health and well-being, tourism/arts and culture, young people, citizens, politicians, community, and social and economic infrastructure, delegates discussed issues affecting their respective sectors now and outlined how they wanted to take things forward. This set the foundations for the afternoon session which moved from the past and present to focus on the future.

Participants were asked to imagine what life is like in the city region in the year 2029 and to look back on the obstacles, challenges and failures faced by the city over the 20 years to 2029. More importantly, delegates were asked to report back on the development of the city and imagine its successes and achievements to 2029.

Day two concluded with all delegates discovering common ground in their wants and expectations for the transformation of the city and region.
